Together with Copenhagen Architecture Festival, SPACE10 have curated a program of talks, film screenings, workshops and events all focused on the future perspectives and prospects of architecture and the cities we live in.

On the opening of the exhibition and launch of our 10 day program, Andreas Ruby, founder of RUBY PRESS, the renowned publishing house specializing on architecture and urbanism, gives a talk about his work curating the LACATON & VASSAL exhibition, his methodology of communicating projects and his role at SAM .

RUBY PRESS has developed a storytelling approach to architectural communication that engages textual and visual elements in a complementary way. Ruby Press aim to make the theoretical discourse of architecture sensual while anchoring its visual representation in a coherent conceptual framework.

About SPACE10 x CAFx: Future perspectives

Together with CAFx, SPACE10 have curated a 10 day program which acts as an active exploration into current trends within architecture and urbanism with focus on how to approach the future development of cities and society.

This program looks at the importance of social engagement within urban and architectural projects. We will discuss the prospect of how the existing fabric of a city can be used as a resource, the importance of community engagement and how to create liveable cities with response to food, technology and ideas of sustainability.

Speaker bio

Andreas Ruby is an architectural critic and theorist and is currently director at the Swiss Architecture Museum

Trained as an architect and an architecture historian, respectively, Ilka Ruby and Andreas Ruby work simultaneously as critics, curators, moderators, publishers and teachers, they exercise their practice as “discourse engineers”, dedicated to communicating architecture beyond the usual suspects of the discipline to a broad audience. Together they founded architecture and urbanism publishing house Ruby Press.
