Do you want to treat your plants kindly? Be as good as you can be to them? Or at the very least water them when they’re thirsty? Wouldn’t it be grand if they would turn a little light on to tell you when they were dry? If so, then join us for this DIY technology workshop.

In this workshop, we will make our own sensors from scratch and connect them to a solar-powered circuit which will turn on an LED when the poor plants are thirsty. You will do some very basic electronics and play with solar power while making something useful. This workshop is suitable for ages 8+ and all the electronic components, sensors materials and instruction are included.

Technology Will Save Us, one of the UK’s most exciting design-led, technology startups focused on learning, will host the Thirsty Plant workshop. Based in Hackney, East London Technology Will Save Us are on a mission to provide families, educators and young people – of all ages, backgrounds and interests – new opportunities to learn and create using technology. Or as co-founder and CEO Bethany Koby puts it ‘Making things in the real world using technology provides more immediate satisfaction, emotional and intellectual awareness and a deeper understanding of the skills learned."

The workshop will be facilitated in both English and Danish.
